Printpal Recycling Partners With Schools & Non-Profits On Fund-Raising
Medford July 9, 2004 -- Over the past five years Printpal.com has become the #1 web-store in the United States and Canada as a reseller of new and remanufactured Inkjet cartridges and Laser toners, offering quality products at a savings of up to 80 per cent.
"We attribute the phenomenal growth of Printpal.com to our focus on product quality, unbeatable pricing and customer convenience," sad David Sumpter, Printpal Recycling Division Manager.
In fact, Printal.com grew at such a rapid rate suppliers were having difficulty keeping up with customer demand.
"We quickly realized we needed to find a way to motivate the consumer to recycle their empty cartridges," said Sumpter. "The supply was there, all we had to do was figure out how to reroute the empty cartridges from landfills to a recycling center without damaging the cartridges."
The decision was made to expand the company and do their own recycling. In January Printpal Recycling began their quest to educate and motivate local communities to recycle.
"Our mission is simple--build strong community partnerships, have a positive impact on the environment and provide economic relief to everyone," said Sumpter. "Unlike most recycling programs, we pay you for your recyclables."
In 2000, 150,000,000 Inkjet cartridges were sold and only six per cent of those cartridges were recycled.
Approximately 90 per cent of these cartridges are recyclable.
Two and a half ounces of oil is used for every two pounds of plastic Inkjet cartridges produced and three and a half quarts of oil is used for every Laser toner produced. This means in seven months cartridge remanufacturing could save more oil than was spilled by the Exxon Valdez in Prince Edward Sound, Alaska. Oil is a non-renewable fossil fuel and cannot be remade--recycling will help conserve this valuable, natural resource.
The plastic used in a print cartridge can take over 10 centuries to decompose--1,000 years.
In the remanufacturing process Printpal uses only the highest quality toners and offers customers a 100 per cent satisfaction guarantee. The Recycling Division does the cleaning, prepping and inspecting, while the remanufacturing is being done by experts in the industry.
With an average failure rate of less than one per cent you can't go wrong.
Printpal's Fund-Raising Program requires absolutely NO SELLING. It's one of the easiest and fastest ways to raise funds--simply encourage the community, friends, family, or local businesses to donate their empty cartridges. Printpal buys back the empty cartridges, provides free pickup (locally) or free shipping/packaging.
Businesses and individuals can sponsor a school or organization of their choice to donate their cartridges to, take the tax write off and receive an additional 10 per cent off on their replacement purchases of remanufactured cartridges.
"Our programs have been designed to ensure everyone benefits--It's Win-Win," Sumpter said.
